100 CENTURIES

A hundred centuries ago, there might've been you and I
We didn't get no airplanes, but we almost touched the sky
It was a hundred centuries ago - a hundred centuries ago
We didn't smash no cars, we couldn't act like superstars !

Two hundred centuries ago, we never found a home
We were always fighting for our food, but we were never alone
It was two hundred centuries ago - two hundred centuries ago
We didn't smash T.V.s, we couldn't get no royalties…

Three hundred centuries ago, no ballroom in our town
We were jumping to warm our bones and circling up and down
It was three hundred centuries ago - three hundred centuries ago
The real stars per spotlights, the fireworks were shining bright

Four hundred centuries ago, no coins and no jukebox
We had to do our own stuff and we never got no pokes…
It was four hundred centuries ago - four hundred centuries ago
No love was to be found, there were no sweethearts around !

Four hundred centuries ago - four hundred centuries ago,
But we were free to be free and to play free in the country !
